Paul joined the School in 2017 as a teacher of History and held the role of Head of History for six years. During his time at the School, he has championed evidence-informed practice, both within his Department and across the School as part of his position as Director of Teaching and Learning. In recognition of our culture of research engagement, the School received the prestigious Research Mark Plus accreditation from the Chartered College of Teaching in 2025. Paul now continues this work as Assistant Head: Teaching, Learning, and Innovation, where he looks to make St Albans School the best place to learn, teach, and develop.

Paul is a Chartered Teacher and a Churchill Fellow; he shares his expertise via external networks, conferences, and publications. Before joining St Albans School, he was Head of History at Tring Park School, and he holds an MA in Medical History from the University of Exeter.
