We are delighted that you are considering a St Albans School education for your son or daughter.
We are a leading independent School for boys aged 11-18 and we welcome girls into our Sixth Form at 16+. Our main entry points are at 11+, 13+ and 16+.
We are an academically selective school, and our impressive results speak for themselves, but we are also a community which seeks to embody its ethos and traditions whilst striving for academic excellence within a warm, caring and inclusive atmosphere, with a real commitment to the extensive pastoral care provided to all. We provide depth and breadth to the holistic educational experience offered to pupils to produce ambitious, well-rounded individuals, happy and resilient as they encounter the challenges and opportunities of the world of the future.
There is no typical St Albans School pupil and we take into consideration the character, interests and talents of every pupil who applies, welcoming applications from all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. Each year, approx 200 students join us from more than 100 different schools across the state and independent sectors and from overseas.
The best way to experience all that St Albans School can offer is to come and visit us and we look forward to meeting you soon. For a step-by-step explanation of our admissions process at each of our three main entry points (11+, 13+ and 16+), please click here.

Whether you're looking for your son or daughter to join St Albans School straightaway, or you're thinking about the future, my aim is to make the admissions process a positive experience for both you and your child.
I have worked in the Admissions Department at St Albans School since 2017, having previously worked in State Sector Finance and Admissions for 7 years.
As a parent of two teenage sons I know how important it is to find the right school for your child. I empathise with how daunting and stressful the process can be but hope that my first hand experience of the State and Independent sectors, along with my in-depth knowledge of St Albans School, will enable me to unravel the process for you.
I hope to support you with any questions you may have, or I can put you in touch with other members of our School community to assist you with any other queries.
The breadth of information provided on these pages is a useful first starting point and the Admissions Team are always on hand to guide you through the process. Please contact us via the links below:
