James joined the School in September 2016 from St Olave's Grammar School in Kent, having previously held the positions of Head of Year (Middle School) and Head of Rugby. Prior to teaching he worked for England Rugby. Since joining the School as Deputy Director of Sport he has also taken on the role of Head of Academic PE, Head of 1st XV Rugby and most recently Head of Creative, Technical and Performing Arts Faculty.
As Assistant Head Co-curricular, James is responsible for the planning, development and delivery of the extensive co-curricular programme, including; Drama, Music, Sport, CCF, Duke of Edinburgh as well as the vast array of clubs and societies that engage the School community. His role also encompasses the House system and ensuring all pupils have the opportunity to thrive beyond the classroom.
James has a BSc in Business Administration from Bath University. Following his rugby coaching career he gained his QTS through the Graduate Teacher Program in 2011.
