Chess

Chess is a popular sport at St Albans School. Our Chess Club offers opportunities for all ages and levels of ability with weekly meetings for recreational and competitive players.

The club fields many teams and is active in the English Schools Chess series of tournaments as well as in friendly matches against local schools. We aim to build on our success at the National Schools Team Championship and include additional online tournaments to the schedule. 

We meet exclusively in the Corfield Atrium and training and instructional sessions for team players takes place after school.
