Senior Leadership Team and Governors

Joe joined St Albans School as Headmaster in August 2024. He was previously the Headmaster of Wetherby Senior School, an academic boys’ school in central London, having previously served as the Deputy Head (Academic) at Bancroft’s School in Woodford Green, and as an Assistant Head at City of London School. 

Joe has a BA in Theology and Religious Studies from Bristol University, a PGCE from the University of Birmingham, and an MA in Education Leadership from King's College London. Joe has experience as a governor at both Primary and Secondary level in the maintained sector, and is now a governor of both Beechwood Park School and Lochinver House School. He is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Innholders and sits on their Patronage Committee to help oversee their investments into a wide range of charities. 

Joe lives in St Albans with his wife Rachael and children James and Maggie. In the rare event of having any spare time, he enjoys cycling, playing golf and keeping fit.
